It is the night before I teach "I Know That My Savior Loves Me" to the children. I sat down at the piano again tonight to review the words and music. I didn't get through the first verse before the spirit became so strong I couldn't even sing the words.
My one year old daughter came in a few seconds later and snuggled in my lap as I sobbed and I hugged her and realized the power of this song...from my oldest son, who prepares for the preisthood this year and will leave primary, to my littlest one who will be coming into nursery for the first time, I have an important calling. I have the responsibility to teach these primary children the words of this song, so it is in their hearts and becomes a testimony so strong that the adversary cannot affect them. They need to know how much they are loved by their elder brother, Jesus Christ, and their Heavenly Father.
I think my favorite line of the whole song is "...I did not touch him or sit in His knee, Yet, Jesus is real to me..." I hope and pray tomorrow that I can help them make Jesus become real. That they will know and feel and understand what he did and why he did it...and most importantly, who he did it for! I know that my Savior loves me!
